1. Access is conditional
| base | is a privately operated communications service using the Matrix protocol. Access may be invite-only, token-based, temporarily closed, or changed at operator discretion.
Accounts use the @username:rgherd.com namespace. No one has an inherent right to an account, username, room, token, session, or continued access.
2. Acceptable use
Do not use RG Herd infrastructure for illegal activity, targeted abuse, threats, harassment, hate-based intimidation, bot abuse, scraping, privilege escalation, infrastructure probing, or attempts to evade moderation.
3. Administrative authority
Administrators may suspend or deactivate accounts, revoke sessions, reset credentials, moderate rooms, remove users, freeze onboarding, rotate keys, or change configuration to protect users and infrastructure.
There is no guaranteed appeal process. Administrative authority may be granted, limited, or revoked at any time.
4. Service limits
The service is provided as-is and as-available. There is no uptime guarantee, no SLA, no guarantee of message permanence, and no guarantee that any feature, room, or access pathway will remain available.
Federation may be disabled, limited, or changed at operator discretion. Communication may be limited to the rgherd.com namespace.
5. Data, encryption, and retention
Unencrypted rooms are visible to server operators. Encrypted content is not readable by the server, but metadata such as IP addresses, device information, timestamps, room membership, and session records may still be visible or logged.
Messages and media may persist indefinitely, expire by configuration, or be lost if not synchronized. Users are responsible for their own backups where needed.
